L-Glutamine

Vantage L-Glutamine is a pure, free form anti-catabolic and multi-functional amino acid, used to increase muscle strength, speed up recovery, prevent muscle breakdown & increase natural HGH.

Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the human body. It is widely viewed as an essential supplement for anyone who partakes in intense physcial activity. Not only does Glutamine promote muscle growth and prevent muscle loss, but it also improves recovery times and enhances mental focus.

What's more, Glutamine has numerous health benefits too; from helping to fight illness and infection to supporting numerous organ processes throughout the body.

During intense training, your muscle L-Glutamine levels drop sharply. This, in turn decreases strength, stamina and recovery. Research demonstrates that following a rigorous workout, it may take up to six days for L-Glutamine levels to return to normal without supplementation. Without adequate levels of L-Glutamine, it is impossible for protein synthesis to occur.

It also increases cell volumization immediately. Volumized muscle cells appear larger, get a better pump and assist in protein synthesis. In fact, L-Glutamine helps muscle cells to utilize both protein and carbohydrates. L-Glutamine also acts as a powerful ammonia scavenger. Ammonia is a highly toxic substance to muscle cells.

Vantage Glutamine increases the body's ability to secrete Human Growth Hormone (HGH). HGH assists in metabolising body fat and helps to support new muscle tissue growth. Research demonstrates that the muscles can benefit from a minium of 2 to 5 additional grams of L-Glutamine daily.

Building Muscle

A recent study showed that supplementing with just 2g of Glutamine, increased GA levels by four times. To this extent Glutamine is an excellent supplement for athletes participating in sports or events requiring strength and speed, or simply those looking to build muscle.

Preventing Muscle Loss

During exercise Glutamine is 'stripped' from our muscles, which can lead to muscle loss or wasting. Consequently, anybody who undertakes exercise can benefit from supplementing with Glutamine due to its potential to reduce this breakdown of muscle-tissue. It has for example been used successfully in hospitals to prevent muscle wasting in the chronically ill. Glutamine also plays a vital role in protein synthesis, which is necessary for hypertrophy and repair.

Improving Recovery

Low levels of Glutamine are common in athletes who are overtraining. Overtraining results in poor performance, risk of infection and bad moods. In contrast, high levels of Glutamine help shuttle other vital amino acids into the muscle cells, and therefore improve recovery times of the user.

Maintain a Healthy Body

As mentioned previously, Glutamine is involved in more metabolic processes than any other amino acid. This is because it is needed in very large quantities to maintain the correct functioning of our immune system, liver, pancreas, kidneys, gallbladder, intestines and gut.

Brain Food

Supplementing with Vantage Glutamine increases levels of Glutamic Acid in the body. Glutamic Acid is known as our main 'Brain Food'. It has also been shown that Glutamine has contributed to improving intelligence, and can enhance mental focus and mood.

Prevent Illness and Infection

When we exercise our bodies suffer a large rise in the number of free-radicals, but a drop in the number of antioxidants available to fight them. This imbalance can lead to illness and infections, especially in very active individuals. Research has found that this risk of illness and infection appears to reduce in people with high levels of Glutamine; as a result it is often used in hospitals to both prevent infection and promote healing in burns victims.

Directions

We recommend using 4g of Glutamine per serving (approx 1 Teaspoon).

Start with 4g split into 2 doses and work up to 15-30g max per day in split doses. The most common schedule is morning, after a work out and the just before bed. It is best to take Glutamine on an empty stomach.

Glutamine does not need to be cycled. There are no negative side effects to L-Glutamine use.
